Frequently Asked Questions

While the terms are often used interchangeably, there are some key differences:

  • Counsellinggenerally focuses on short-term support to help you navigate specific challenges or life transitions. It’s often solution-focused and may involve guidance and emotional support.
  • Psychotherapy, on the other hand, is typically a longer-term process that delves deeper into emotional difficulties, patterns of behaviour, and underlying psychological issues. It involves working with a trained psychologist to facilitate deeper healing, personal growth, and long-term change.

At this practice, our approach is in-depth and thoughtfully tailored to your unique emotional and psychological needs. Depending on your goals and presenting concerns, we offer both psychotherapy and counselling, ensuring the support you receive is the most appropriate for your personal journey.

Yes. All our services are currently offered virtually, allowing you to attend sessions from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Individual adult therapy sessions are billed at R1,170.00 per session.

Sessions typically run for 50–60 minutes for individuals.
For couples, we recommend a longer initial session of 90–120 minutes, depending on the needs and nature of the consultation.

A once-off administration fee of R360.00 is payable by all medical aid clients.
This covers benefit checks, the billing of sessions to your medical aid, applications for Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs) if applicable, and all required communication with the medical aid throughout your therapy.

While we submit claims on your behalf, the cost of therapy ultimately remains your responsibility. If your medical aid does not pay for any session, the outstanding amount will be billed directly to you.
