Prudence Poswa
Counselling Psychologist | Founder of ConnectedParent
My journey into psychology began with a passion for supporting families, rooted in my background as a Social Worker. I completed a Master’s in Social Work, where I explored parents’ perspectives on adolescents’ social media use and its impact on family relationships. This sparked a deeper interest in mental health, leading me to pursue an Honours in Psychology and later a Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Nelson Mandela University.
As a registered Counselling Psychologist with the HPCSA, I now provide online therapy in South Africa for individuals, couples, adolescents, and parents. My work focuses on helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, and personality challenges. Through virtual counselling and online psychological services, I create a safe and supportive space for growth, self-awareness, and developing healthier coping mechanisms
My internship at the University of the Witwatersrand deepened my focus on childhood development, parenting dynamics, and addressing unmet childhood needs in adulthood. I continue to explore these themes through my PhD research on early childhood parent-child relationships and contextual influences within the South African setting.

Over time, my work has naturally developed into two complementary branches: one clinical and one educational.
- Tier 1: Psychotherapy (Clinical Services) – Provided under my professional identity as a Counselling Psychologist, providing Psychotherapy services. Psychotherapy offers deep, personalised clinical support tailored to the unique emotional needs of each client.
- Tier 2: The ConnectedParent Village(Psycho-Educational & Non-Clinical) – The ConnectedParent Village is a place where parents can find support, encouragement, and connection. Parenting was never meant to be done alone, and this space exists to walk alongside parents as they navigate the complexities of raising children. Through webinars, masterclasses, practical resources, and community, parents are supported in building secure, connected relationships that help their children thrive.
The ConnectedParent Village is not psychotherapy. It is a supportive, attachment-informed community that offers science-backed guidance and encouragement for the everyday realities of parenting.
My Commitment – I am passionate about providing ethical, compassionate, and professional psychological services through a virtual platform, making mental health support accessible and flexible across South Africa. Whether you are seeking online therapy for grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, or life transitions – or whether you are looking for a parenting community and practical tools to strengthen your connection with your child – my work is guided by the belief that people thrive when they feel seen, supported, and connected.
